Congratulations, JMS! Last year's Literary Magazine, Our Piece of MInd, has received an Excellent rating in the 2019 NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Program. In total, there were 325 entries, and JMS's Literary Magazine is one of 16 to be recognized from the state of Pennsylvania. Of those 16, only TWO were middle schools, and JMS was one of them!
The rubric notes "High-quality writing. Variety of students represented. Sophistication of writing. . .Strong editing. . . Attractive design. Art and design connect to writing."
Special thanks to the teachers for encouraging your students to submit their writing and be a part of the magazine's staff and to all of the students whose writing was published in last year's magazine and who helped as a selection staff member, typist, or artist.
