JMS students and faculty recently came together to support former JMS student Kyle Nguyen, who was recently re-diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Now a sophomore at the high school, Kyle was first diagnosed in September 2014 while in fifth grade at Hoover. On Friday, October 11, all students who paid a dollar could wear a crazy hat around the school for the day. Due to the extreme generosity of the JMS community, we were able to raise $614.75 for Kyle and his family. We are proud of what our JMS family can do when we unite together for a cause.
Kyle was also the honorary captain for the Mt. Lebanon-Hempfield football game on September 27. Orange bracelets were sold at the stadium to raise money for Kyle's treatment.
A GoFundMe page called "Kyle's Angels" has been set up to continue to raise money for Kyle and update everyone on his treatment progress. To date, $7,500 has been collected.
